Marie Carlsson

Marie Carlsson, classical concert pianist born in Stockholm, Sweden. Her personal Chopin interpretations have won the praise of the critics and she is giving piano recitals in Paris, New York, Stockholm.

She studied in the soloist classes at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and at the Academy of Music in Malmö. After obtaining a Master of Fine Arts in Music she continued her studies in the soloist diploma class at the Alfred Cortot Conservatory in Paris where she studied with the famous French pianist France Clidat, also known as "Madame Liszt".   
         
Marie Carlsson has been awarded the Boon Scholarship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, a Scholarship from Marianne and Sigvard Bernadotte Arts Fund and the Lion Culture Prize. She has also been the recipient of a Scholarship from the French Government.
